Intel producirá SOC’s con procesadores ARM en sus fabricas

Según Forbes el gigante Intel va a comenzar la fabricación del nuevo SOC llamado Startix 10 que incluye procesadores licenciados por ARM, la producción se efectuara en sus fábricas por medio de su filial Altera. Con este movimiento Intel entrará en competencia directa con otros desarrolladores e integradores de núcleos ARM como Samsung, TSMC o Global Foundries.

Según anuncia Altera el nuevo  SOC se montará sobre la arquitectura Intel Tri-Gate a 14 nm Tri-Gate, el cual incorporará un potente procesador Quad core Cortex-A53 de 64bits en el sistema algo que ya están adoptando otros fabricantes como Samsung. El sistema también soporta OpenCL.
